Network Appliance Expands Storage Management and Virtualization Portfolio continued

Further extending Network Appliance's management capabilities, ApplianceWatch software facilitates central and remote administration of distributed NetApp appliances in Tivoli Enterprise systems management environments and HP OpenView network management frameworks, to lower TCO by leveraging investments in technology and training. The latest version of ApplianceWatch software for Tivoli Enterprise incorporates distributed appliance monitoring, inventory tracking, and event console messaging to help administrators quickly manage appliances in even the largest global enterprise networks. ApplianceWatch for HP OpenView offers integrated support for HP OpenView's latest Network Node Manager.

MultiStore software simplifies data management through advanced virtualization functionality that allows administrators to consolidate multiple UNIX® and Windows® servers and domains into one physical appliance. MultiStore enables secure, logical partitioning of a filer's network and storage resources, allowing one NetApp filer to act as many virtual filers. Using MultiStore, information cannot be accessed and resources cannot be discovered across virtual partitions, ensuring a highly secure environment. MultiStore also offers a unique capability to move and migrate the users, domain and data to a new filer for disaster recovery or load balancing.
About Network Appliance:
Network Appliance, Inc., a leader in enterprise network storage, has been providing data access solutions since 1992 and is a member of both the S&P 500 and the NASDAQ 100 index. Major corporations and service providers, including Citicorp Securities, Lockheed, Merrill Lynch, Oracle, Texas Instruments, and Yahoo!, utilize NetApp global data management solutions.

The company pioneered the concept of the "network appliance," an extension of the industry trend toward dedicated, specialized products that perform a single function. NetApp storage platforms (NetApp filers, NearStore™, and NetCache® appliances) are coupled with powerful data management, content distribution, and reporting software, offering seamless storage management from the corporate data center to the remote office. The Network Appliance product portfolio utilizes the company's innovative data access software, known as the Data ONTAP™ operating system, as well as standards-compliant hardware. It also offers multiprotocol support and transparent integration for UNIX® and Windows® environments.
